Jontay began operations in 1989 as a wholesale supplier of belting material and fashion buckles to retail fabric chains. As the sales for belting material and fashion buckles declined during the 1990s, Jontay switched its focus towards supplying these chains with multi-purpose strapping and plastic and metal hardware aimed at light manufacturing operations and prototype development projects. For a time, the retail fabric chains served as an important communication hub and general starting point for these projects. However, as these fabric chains began to disappear, the supply of raw products of strapping and buckles in small quantities and suffered. Through internet marketing and coordination with various narrow manufacturing and hardware distributors, Jontay is able to supply these products in the small quantities that small manufacturers and prototype developers require.
When browsing the website, notice that the same product may appear twice side-by-side. For example, a hardware item is sold in 'Single-Piece' quantities and 'By-The-Bag' quantities. Or, a webbing item is sold in 'By-The-Yard' quantities and 'By-The-Roll' or 'By-The-Spool' quantities.
For small quantity purchases, select the item sold in 'Single-Pieces' or 'By-The-Yard' quantities. That way, you can get the right amount of material. However, for larger quantity purchases, select the item sold in 'By-The-Bag' or 'By-The-Roll' or 'By-The-Spool' quantities. Then select the lot size you want in the product options to get the right price for the material you want.
